It's been a while since I have posted anything, but I had to post these photos. I found them at Goodwill in Bangor, ME, they are actually a bunch of old film slides of a family and there travels. I want to locate the owner of the slides so I can return them or possibly find a family member to give them too. If you could take a look and see if you recognize anyone in the photos I would appreciate the help!

The making of an intro video

I put together a intro video for www.samuelhallett.com, head over there to check it out then come back here to see how I made it. I wanted to let everyone know just because I know what to do behind a camera, doesn't mean I know what to do in front of the camera.  Here is the proof!

Photos of how I shot the video after the break.

Katie and Diesel

It's been a few days since the last post, but I have been busy and that is always a good thing! I wanted to post up a few photos from a shoot I had with Katie and her dog Diesel. We started off the shoot in two different locations, when you tell someone you are going to meet them at the city forest you should probably mention a specific place haha. That was my bad, but we did finally meet up and the weather was nice enough to cooperate and the rain held off.  Once things got going we had a great time, I must say that Diesel has quite the personality and he kept on trying to catch flies which made for a few laughs. On to the photos! For those who might be wondering Diesel is a black lab and mastiff mix and a pretty photogenic dog.

Model Shoot with Alina

A few weeks ago I had a chance to go on a model photo shoot with Memorymaker Photography and our model Alina. I want to thank Soubanh, from Memorymaker Photography, for letting me come with him to the shoot. I haven't had a good chance to do any kind of model photo shoots, so this was a great opportunity to try a few things that I have wanted to do. Alina and her husband invited us to there home where there was an old barn that has been standing for years and use to house horses.  This turned out to be a good place to shoot, the natural light coming through the windows looked great, and the colors of the wood and textures in the barn looked fantastic. Alina was great, she would keep moving from pose to pose, and would try any pose that was tossed at her.  Overall this was a great shoot and I learned a lot from it and I am looking forward to my next model shoot, that should be happening next week if all goes well!  Enjoy the photos and let me know what you think!

Photos of my little man!!!

Here are some of the ultra sound photos from this morning. They could tell right away that he is a boy, and then he started moving all over the place haha.  I am so excited and looking forward to meeting our little guy in a few months. On to the pics!

The Zombies are Coming to Town Movie Premiere!

Last June a friend of mine from high school, Nathan Oliver, decided to come back to Maine to shoot his first 16mm feature film The Zombies are Coming to Town! The movie is finished and at 12:00am on April 22 at the Braden Theater in Presque Isle a sold out theater got to see the movie for the first time. I am happy I was there to see it, actually thanks to a donation from someone who was following the movie, I was able to see it.  It was great seeing it for the first time, but what was even better was how much everyone there loved it.  The movie was completely set and shot in northern Maine, and the cast and crew was also from northern Maine.  The movie never would have happened if it wasn't for all of the great people who volunteered their time to make the film.  I was one of the first ones there to start the filming and one of the last to leave when shooting wrapped, and I am glad I got to be a part of the production.  I want to share a few photos I took at the premiere, I was the official on-set photographer during production, so of course I had to take more at the premiere.  Everyone should also check out their facebook page here and show your support for the film!

Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race 2011

Last weekend was the Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race, and I had to head down to the stream to snap a few photos. This race has been run since 1967 and every year is just as exciting as the last. The reason I like to shoot this particular race is because I was actually a participant in the 2007 canoe race.

Me, Greg Parker, Nate Roberts at the finish with no canoe!
